It was a joyful weekend for the pupils and teachers of the Anhuntem/Darmang Presbyterian Primary School in the Nsawam Adoagyiri District of the Eastern Region, when they received over 1000 exercise books, pens and clothes from an online youth charity group Dress-A-Kid. The kind gesture, according to the group (Dress-A-Kid)is to lessen the burden of parents who are struggling to provide the academic needs for the about 400 pupils in the school.
In addition, the group said the move was to give the pupils of the school reasons to stay in school despite the harsh conditions they

Thanking the group on behalf of the jolly pupils and teachers who had made it to the school in spite of the fact that it was a non-school going day, the headmaster Mr. Offei Ofori noted that the items couldn’t have come at any better time considering the fact that a new academic year had just started. “School attendance are not encouraging when school reopens like this, because of textbooks and others to be bought by the parents, so we are very much happy for this donation, he said, noting that this was the first time the school is benefiting from such gesture.
A member of the group, Solo Affari said even though Dress-AKid seeks to assemble clothes and donate to needy children in deprived communities, they thought it wise to add books since it will motivate the pupils to stay in school.
